Why Kansas Citys skyline will glow green this week [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – City leaders are known for turning the Kansas City skyline different colors for different reasons.

Wednesday night people in and around downtown will notice the buildings glowing green.

Kansas City will go green on the first night of May in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, and to support the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

According to organizers, more than 30% of people living in Missouri suffer from mental health issues. They say the number is higher than the national average.
