Why are elderly pushed aside in healthcare system? (letter to the editor) [Video]

How do the elderly fare in this broken healthcare system? I recently lost my mother the end of April.

My mother had experienced a health issue in 2022 requiring home assistance with a home health aide.

To get the aide she needed, we had to pay quite a bit for private home care. Eventually I was able to get some government assistance, but 4 hours over a 24-hour day is merely a drop in the bucket.
