What led Amber Lynn Carroll to run the Knoxville Marathon [Video]

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Hi, I’m Amber Lynn Carroll, and I am one of the hosts of Living East Tennessee. We are a fun lifestyle show that loves to showcase local businesses and happenings in the heart of this beautiful place we call home.

I’m taking you on a journey with me through training for the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon.

I never really was a runner. I really struggled athletically to catch my stride as a child and even as a teen and young adult.  However, I was always drawn to running.  I couldn’t even finish 2 miles on the pavement.  If I made it to 5 miles without my side hurting, I was feeling really good about myself.  So, I gave it every shot I had.

To this day, I think running is all about perspective.  It’s about the “why” behind your strides.  For me, that goes a lot deeper than exercise.
