A COUPLE offered a tour of their 20-foot-long tiny home that they have lived in for four years.
Jake and Kiva felt like they were wasting money while living in a rental.
They didn’t have the means to buy a traditional home, but they did have enough to build a tiny home.
“We thought, for roughly the same amount as a downpayment on a real house, we could just own a tiny house,” said Jake in a YouTube video on the channel Exploring Alternatives.
“Whether that’s a stepping stone to something else or we stay in it permanently or whatever, at least we’re going somewhere that is meaningful to us.”
The initial budget was $20,000 CAD, but they ultimately spent $36,000. This is equivalent to just over $26,087 USD.
