Neurodegenerative diseases like dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, motor neurone disease, and Huntington’s affect hundreds of thousands of Australians, robbing them of memories, mobility, and independence. The toll on families is immense, both emotionally and financially.

As our population ages, these diseases are becoming more prevalent. Without breakthroughs, the costs will be overwhelming. Researchers funded by SSMRF are working tirelessly to understand these diseases, develop early detection methods and explore treatments. More funding is crucial to accelerate discovery and improve lives.
