Nkhunga First Grade Magistrate Kingsley Bulea has convicted two women and ordered them to pay a K100,000 fine each, for forcing their underaged children into marriage.

The two, 46-year-old Monica Njolomole and Mecklina Mayesa aged 40, instructed an underaged boy to marry a fellow minor he impregnated last year.

Police arrested the two women for contravening section 81(a) as read with section 83 of the Child Care, Protection and Justice Act of 2010.

Monica Njolomole hails from Sosola Village in the area of Senior Chief Kanyenda in Nkhotakota while Mecklina Mayesa comes from Masangano Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kuntaja in Blantyre.
