Dr. Allyson Coffin explains why it’s so important to maintain connections, even if your routine changes in the summer.

PORTLAND, Maine — When summer hits, many of us change our routines, especially if kids are involved.

The normal school schedule is gone and with longer warmer days, many people change their routine.

Dr. Allyson Coffin, chiropractor and wellness expert at Align with Wellness, joined us with some tips.

She suggests scheduling your time with friends, noting that we wouldn’t skip a doctor’s appointment on our calendar, so don’t skip an appointment with a friend.

She also mentions habit stacking to build healthy routines. For instance, if you’re getting together with a friend go for a walk or go for a walk if you’re on a work meeting. This will force you to get outside and exercise, while still getting everything done you have to do.
