The NELA Bar Foundation is hosting a 5K run and walk [Video]

The event will raise funds to assist local high school senior girls with post-secondary education. Local senior girls living in Ouachita, Morehouse, Franklin, Madison, East Carroll, West Carroll, Caldwell and Richland Parishes who plan to attend a two or four-year college are eligible for the scholarships.

The Red, White and Blue Airshow will take place at the Monroe Regional Airport.

Monroe police said they pulled over a vehicle for a broken headlight, and that same vehicle parked in a handicap parking spot before the traffic stop though the vehicle did not have a handicap placard. The driver, Ronterious Bell, was found to have warrants relating to the failure to register as a sex offender.
