SILVER ALERT: Kan. woman reported missing after stealing family members car [Video]

RUSH CO., Kan. (KCTV) – A Silver Alert has been issued for a woman out of Central Kansas who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and dementia after she stole a family member’s vehicle.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced on Saturday, April 13, that the Rush Co. Sheriff’s Office requested it issue a statewide Silver Alert for Mariln Jo Spangenburg, 79, of Hutchinson.

KBI indicated that Spangenburg was last seen at a home in Bison, Kan., around 4 p.m. She was driving a 2008 silver Toyota Camry with a Kansas disabled plate 54971. A family member’s vehicle had been running when she drove away without the key fob in the vehicle. This means the vehicle will not start again once it stops.

Agents noted that Spangenburg’s direction of travel is unknown, however, she may try to travel to Great Bend or Hutchinson. She has been described as a white female who stands 5-foot-5, weighs 217 lbs, and has gray hair and blue …
