Sharon Blevins shares the mental health benefits of volunteer work [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Sharon Blevins has held many roles: school psychologist, educator, writer, marathon runner and world traveler. She is best known for her nonfiction essays, commercial fiction and women’s fiction. Blevins is also an avid reader and likes to paint.

In her professional life, Blevins is a full-time school psychologist and adjunct instructor dedicated to serving educational and mental health needs.

“I’m trying to encourage others, so I research things that I feel like would support mental health in a variety of different people’s lives,” Blevins said.

She holds a doctorate in educational leadership and management from Alliant International University in Fresno, California, a specialist degree in school psychology, and a bachelor of science in psychology and social Work.
