Rotary Club of San Antonio West: Alzheimer’s Research Project/Partnering Presentation
Objectives:
* Provide funding for research projects that address the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, emphasizing young researchers and promising research projects in their preliminary stages.
* Raise awareness and advocacy for Alzheimer’s research among other Rotary Club members, stakeholders, and the public.
* Raise awareness of the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio, one of 33 centers in the nation and the only one in Texas recognized as a National Institute on Aging-designated Alzheimer’s Research Center.
* Build and strengthen the partnership between Rotary Club West and the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio.
* Establish and maximize relationships with organizations within Rotary and external to Rotary with shared common objectives.

Scope
* Organize and facilitate multiple and varied fundraising activities.
* Present this project to other Rotary Clubs, encouraging their own fundraising activities and/or donations to this Club’s project.
* Communicate progress and results to Rotary Club West, the Biggs Institute, and relevant stakeholders.
* Utilize the expertise within the Biggs Institute to ensure the selection of appropriate researchers and projects when awarding funds.
