Police investigating death of 7-month-old baby hospitalized from significant bodily trauma [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Officers stated they were investigating the death of a 7-month-old boy who was hospitalized on Saturday.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, first responders arrived at a home in the 5300 block of Olive Street on June 15 and saw an infant inside who was unresponsive.

The child was taken to the hospital with “significant physical bodily trauma.”

Family confirmed to KCTV5 that Baby Gio died after suffering from brain trauma, broken ribs and other injuries.(Family)

Police told KCTV5 on Thursday that they learned the child had died. The family confirmed the boy’s name was Gio, and that he had suffered from brain trauma, broken ribs and burns on his foot, among other injuries.

The family has established a GoFundMe for assistance in covering funeral costs.
