Nevada senator says President Bidens immigration executive order allows more to work [Video]

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – President Joe Biden is making it easier for some undocumented spouses and step-children of American citizens to get permanent resident in the United States.

Tuesday, the president issued another immigration executive order. It’s his second in recent weeks.

The order protects more than half a million undocumented migrants from deportation by changing the policy regarding family members.

“You’re going to be able to do something common that we use now in immigration law called ‘parole in place,’” said Nevada District 2 Senator Edgar Flores. “And what that allows you to do is get work authorization immediately. You’ll be able to apply for it now.”

Those who are married to a U.S. citizen and have lived in the U.S. for at least 10 years with no criminal record are eligible. That’s the same for undocumented children under 21 who’s parent is married to a citizen.

Republicans say the executive action will just encourage more illegal immigration.
