Natick neighborhood’s stand against hate inspires children’s book [Video]

A new children’s book about kids supporting neighbors who experienced acts of anti-LGBTQ hate is based on a story that happened in a Massachusetts town eight years ago.In 2016, someone egged the Natick home of Cari and Lauri Ryding and ripped down their Pride flag that read: “Peace.” The couple was heartbroken by the attack on their house, but they were uplifted by what happened next.The children who lived in the Rydings’ neighborhood came up with a plan to buy Pride flags and distribute them throughout the neighborhood.
