Milton Middle School receives grant money to start new after-school program [Video]

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Milton Middle School will be cashing a check for $5,000, which brings them one step closer to the creation of an after-school program for their young students.

The after-school program would provide tutoring, physical and academic activities, a snack, and opportunities for students to complete school work from the end of the school day until early evening.

The money comes by way of discretionary grant dollars from the West Virginia State Legislature, on behalf of state Del. Daniel Linville, R-Cabell.

Linville says when he asked by the school if he could find any grant money for this project, he said he was fully on board.
