Older adults are facing significant challenges and barriers to adequate healthcare. Many older adults seek our assisted living to meet their needs and preferences for care. In Ontario, these settings are commonly referred to as retirement homes.
Retirement homes offer a range of services for assistance with activities of daily living, such as help with bathing, provision of meals, and medications to more complex care, such as dementia care.
Using ICES data, this study looked at the changes in the assisted living population in the last decade.
