Meals Fur Pets in need of more pet food, volunteers [Video]

Meals on Wheels has long been dedicated to providing meals to seniors in the community who wish to maintain their independence. They not only make sure to provide nutrition to the elderly but make sure they’re well taken care of.

But — it was discovered that some of the Meals on Wheels clients had actually been feeding their pets the meals they receive from the delivery program. That discovery led to a new specialized organization.

“Some were just giving their whole meal to their pet,” said Miranda Asmussen, marketing and public relations director for the Meals On Wheels Ministry. “So, we wanted to step in and remedy that so that both our client and their pet are nourished …
