Leavenworth man receives two life sentences for child sex crimes [Video]

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) – A Leavenworth man will serve two life sentences after being found guilty on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14.

As the law requires, Robert D. Knight Sr., 53, will serve at least 25 years of those life sentences.

According to court documents, Leavenworth Police were called after Knight was seen touching the victim’s private area during a get-together at a home in early March. During the investigation, it was discovered Knight also inappropriately touched the victim during an incident that happened in February.

Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson stated, “We hate that children have to testify in cases like this. We admire their strength in ensuring a conviction.”
