Lawyer handling OJ Simpsons estate seeks to auction off his personal items [Video]

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The lawyer handling O.J. Simpson’s estate is looking to put his personal items up for auction.

According to the filing made Tuesday, Malcolm LaVergne, the lawyer handling the estate, “seeks court authorization to sell the Decedent’s unique and high-profile personal property through auction houses, waiving the usual requirement for court confirmation to maximize the Estate’s value for creditors and interested parties.”

“Given the unique circumstances of this Estate, Mr. LaVergne believes that certain items of personal property may be more valuable than in a typical probate administration,” the filing said.

The filing said many of Simpson’s personal items would have more value at auction, given his celebrity, than in probate court.
