Lawrence man pleads guilty to using firearm during an aggravated assault [Video]

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – Kevin L. Lemon, of Overbrook, Ks, pleaded no contest to aggravated assault for an incident that took place in 2023.

On Aug. 31, 2023, Lemon held a firearm during an altercation with a 73-year-old man in a home. The home was located in the 600 block of North 500 Road in Overbrook, Kansas.

“Combatting gun violence that threatens the safety and well-being of everyone in our community remains at the top of my office’s agenda,” District Attorney Valdez said.

Lemon, 54, faces up to 34 months in prison and must register as a violent offender for the next 15 years. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 15, 2024 at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center for 9: 30 a.m.
