Kidney recipients story celebrated at UK Healthcare [Video]

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — April is National Donate Life Month, and it’s used to highlight the impact organ donation has had on families. A family impacted by a kidney transplant had the chance to celebrate life on Wednesday.

Chase Cooper and his family came to celebrate what an organ donation meant to them. Chase needed a kidney transplant, which he ended up getting thanks to his donor, Hanna Durbin.

“For one, I’m still here. I’m grateful. Some people don’t make it that far, so you have to be positive,” Chase said.  

Durbin saw the Facebook post that Chase was looking for a living donor. It didn’t just lead to Chase living his life but also becoming a lifetime friend of the family.
