With the general election approaching, we have been asking people in Pontypridd about the issues they are most concerned about – and in particular whether immigration policy will influence their vote.

Terry Jones, from Porth in the Rhondda Valley, said it would massively impact his vote as he’s worried about members of his family not being able to find a home.

But views were mixed. Neil Callaghan, who’s lived in Pontypridd for 20 years, said he loves the diaspora which immigration brings and believes different cultures should be mixed.

Mr Callaghan said he was concerned about people not being able to vote due to a lack of voter ID, or the weatherputting people off going to the polls. He added: “My main concern with this …
