How to spend max 1-2 hours a week meal prepping #familymeals

Last week, a mom messaged me, sharing that she spends all of Sunday meal prepping for her family of four, missing out on valuable time with them.

Meal prepping should be about making time for family, not taking it away.

Here’s my advice:

1. First, decide how much time you want to dedicate to meal prep—maybe one hour, or two at most. More than that can become overwhelming.

2. Then, think about what you can realistically accomplish in that time to make the biggest impact on your family’s meals for the week.

3. Personally, I spend about 30 minutes washing and prepping fruits and vegetables. Sometimes, I prepare extra and freeze them for later weeks to save time.

4. With the remaining 30 minutes, I prepare breakfast for a few days, meals for the next two days (and extras to freeze for the following week), and a raw freezer meal for later in the week.

5. I don’t usually make snacks during meal prep. Instead, I opt for simple options like yogurt with fresh fruit, cottage cheese, or hummus with pre-cut vegetables.

Since I started meal prepping, I’ve noticed that one week’s effort can impact what we eat for weeks to come, making my life easier and leaving more time to spend with loved ones.
