Two members of the class of 2025, Spirit Lake’s Ethan Stecker and East’s Louden Grimsley announced their respective college commitments with both staying close to home.
Late Monday night, Stecker announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, his commitment to play for the Iowa State football program following his final season with the Indians. The 6-foot-4, 200lb wide receiver/safety had his official visit with the Cyclones on June 14th and is coming off a junior season in which he received Class 2A Second Team All-State honors.
Stecker had a breakout season on both sides of the ball with the Indians last season, finishing second in Class 2A in yards per catch (20.5), and tenth in receiving yards (636) with seven touchdowns on just 31 catches. During his time on defense, the future Cyclone finished with 18.5 tackles including 15 solo wrap ups and a pair of tackles for loss.
