The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest venture into two additional series for Netflix has been revealed, including a show about professional polo and another about gardening and cooking.

During the weekend they spent in Florida for Prince Harry’s annual charity polo match, the couple followed the Netflix crew as he took to the field and Meghan cheered him on.

The pair are said to have agreed new film projects as part of a five-year deal they signed with the streaming giant in 2020. It is worth an estimated £80 million.

The first series will see the Duchess celebrating the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship, while the second series will focus on professional polo.

The Duke hopes to bring the ‘Sport of Kings’ to the masses by showing them what it takes to be a truly competitive player.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s new home cooking show is expected to tie in with her new brand, American Riviera Orchard, which she launched in March.

The couple’s various commercials over the past couple of months have been in stark contrast to what goes on behind the walls of Buckingham Palace and the life they left behind in the UK.

The Prince and Princess of Wales spent the Easter holiday with their three children completely out of the public eye after Catherine announced to the world that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. The king has continued to work mainly behind the scenes since he announced his cancer diagnosis in February.

But for the Duke and Duchess, who are in the United States and still almost completely insulated from the challenges these major health crises have brought to the family, it is business as usual.

Prince Harry looked delighted as he took part in the Sentebali Polo Cup, a match held every year in aid of the charity he co-founded in 2006 which supports young people and children living in South Africa.

Polo has been a staple of modern royal history – with the young Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Prince William all being skilled at the sport associated with the elite.

The new shows, which will be produced by the Duke and Duchess, are in their early stages and their titles and release dates are due to be announced in the coming months.

They are hot on the heels of the launch of the couple’s revamped royal brand, with a coat of arms and online overhaul showing they want to make their own way in the world financially.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s new lifestyle brand represents a long-awaited return to independence after her many miserable years as a working member of the royal family.

The idea of the work revolves around a local poetic story and took at least a year to prepare.

The brand so far consists of a logo, a stylishly designed promotional video featuring the Duchess, as well as the launch of its first product: 50 jars of specially designed strawberry jam that were sent to influencers and friends.

Its brand application includes cookbooks, cutlery, various butters and jams, and table place card holders. The international registration application also includes stationery, gardening products, yoga mats, meditation cushions and goods for pets.

The highly personal project will reflect her own lifestyle tastes and interests and, if successful, will likely become her primary focus in the long term.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry lost what was described as a “frankly desperate” bid to appeal his case against the Home Office over being denied his right to automatic police protection in Britain when he moved abroad.

His lawsuit was dismissed in February after two and a half years of legal wrangling.

It is believed that Prince Harry will now take the case directly to the Court of Appeal.
