Are you the same as well?
Do you also feel difficulty to concentrate and often forget simple tasks? Is it easy for your mind to wander off and inecessantly day dream?

Here are the most simple reasons for lack of concentration :

1. Lack of sleep: poor sleep quality, less sleep duration, sleeping late and irregular sleep timings often lead to fatigue and lack of attention, concentration leading to getting distracted and forgetting simple things.
2. Stress: negatively impacts our ability to inherently concentrate on studies or work by taking the focus to the stressful situations often or leading to incessant thoughts.
3. Anxiety disorders: due to racing thoughts and increased baseline anxiety levels it becomes difficult for us to grasp certain things. Impaired registration of events can lead to impaired recall, becoming easily distracted and poor attention to detail. Forgetting simple things and difficulty to remember certain names and tasks.
4. Depressive disorders : in severe cases, also called pseudo dementia, people have complaints of difficulty remembering simple things, registering and recalling new information, becoming forgetful in daily life which can be quite impairing in everyday life. This is due to the involvement of brain pathways and neurotransmitters which lead to poor executive dysfunction as seen in anxiety disorders.
5. Dehydration : fatigue, impaired registration, lack of attention and concentration.
6. ADHD : (6-16 years). Will present with complaints of hyperactivity, impulsivity, poor school performance, irritability, daydreaming. Children can be impatient and difficult to calm down as well verbally. It’s a complex disorder involving multiple brain pathways which leads to, inability to concentrate for long periods, lack of attention in class and forgetting simple things.
7. Neurocognitive disorders( including dementia) :
(65+). Present with additional physical illness and impaired longterm and short memory and neurological deficits.
8. Internet addiction: increased screen time and long hours of scrolling reduce attention and concentration.
