Clarke Jr., Murphy named Airflow CBS19 Student Athletes of the Year – [Video]

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) — Miller senior guard Jason Clarke Jr. and Western Albemarle lacrosse defender Juliana Murphy are the 2023-24 Airflow CBS19 Student Athletes of the Year. 

Clarke Jr. was honored as a Student Athlete of the Week back in March after leading the Mavericks to both the BRAC and VISAA Division II state crowns in his first and only with the team. He averaged 18 points a game and took very good care of the basketball, averaging a 4.34 assists/turnover ratio. 

“It’s had a huge impact on me [being apart of the Miller community] because I’m big on family,” Clarke Jr. said. “Coming to the Miller School and them embracing me and treating me like family, I’ll cherish that forever.” 

Next fall, Clarke Jr. has committed to play at Applachian State next fall where he hopes to contribute to a team that finished 27-7 in 2023-24.
