SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Wednesday, Sioux Falls Director of Planning and Development Jeff Eckhoff introduced the developer the city has partnered with to develop railyard land downtown.
The development project at this site is the result of decades of planning, according to Eckhoff.
Jay Christensen of Christensen Development out of Des Moines was selected for the project. He has been a real estate developer for 21 years with almost all of his properties located in downtowns, including Des Moines, Omaha and Iowa City.
This developer was chosen because of similar developments in downtown Des Moines — two City Council members visited downtown Des Moines and saw other Christensen properties, which convinced them that this was the developer to partner with.
The whole development is four acres and will feature office space and apartments.
