My guest today is Erin Gaylean, a published author and professional speaker. Erin is the author of the book ‘Badass Advocate: Becoming the Champion Your Loved One Deserves. Being an advocate for a loved one can be challenging, but it’s an important role and we are not alone.

Erin and I talk about what it means to be a badass advocate. Erin shares her heartbreaking life events and the lessons that she learned that can make a difference in the lives of others. Erin shares strategies so that we can be powerful advocates, how families can come together when a loved one gets sick, how we can get the answers we truly need from healthcare professionals, how caregiving can be draining, and how we can put tools and resources together to avoid burnout. We also discuss techniques that can be used to help us caregivers practice self-care while caring for a loved one.
