Authorities begin towing abandoned vehicles at Milwaukee park and rides [Video]

Following months in the making, authorities made a major move Monday in Milwaukee’s park and ride clean-up. Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies assisted Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation in removing abandoned vehicles from the park and rides at Holt and College avenues. WISN 12 News has followed the growing park-and-ride encampments for the last 10 months, with many people staying there saying they’re homeless and have nowhere else to go. “I woke up to the police and DOT again, and I was like, what is it? And then I saw all the tow trucks. I said, OK, they came, and they are actually towing the cars that they ticketed,” one woman who did not want to be identified told WISN 12 News Hannah Hilyard Monday. “Did you think they were actually going to do it?” Hilyard asked. “I was hoping not because that means we actually have to go,” the woman replied. …
