Aubry Killion wins LLS Visionary Of The Year Award [Video]

We want to shout-out our very own WDSU Investigative Reporter Aubry Killion!Aubry won the 2024 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Visionary of the Year award.It’s a 10-week fundraising competition to help fight blood cancer and educate patients, caregivers and families.This year, the honored hero was Luke Bertel. Luke was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the age of 11 years old. Luke fought through chemo and ultimately got a bone marrow transplant from his sister who was a match. Luke and his story inspired Aubry to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Aubry raised the highest amount, $139,000. Every 80 seconds, someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer.That’s according to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
