AmeriCorps Member Conference hosted in Sidney [Video]

SIDNEY, Maine (WABI) – ”Members are individuals that have chosen to do a year of service or a part of a year of service in service to their country to help solve problems, ranging from things in the environment, to education, to health care issues, to supporting the elderly. We have programs in almost any area you can think of,” explained Michael Ashmore, Program Development and Training Officer, Volunteer Maine.

“I remember when I was an AmeriCorps member, and we would have events like this you get to learn about your colleagues what brings them to this work, why they’re doing this work. Also, you have the opportunity to build some professional skill sets. So maybe prepping for a future interview, doing some resume writing, how to network,” said Sonali Nijhawan, Keynote Speaker and Director of AmeriCorps State and National.
