AG Moodys Office files civil complaint against key player in 8 On Your Side Investigation [Video]

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It was money meant to help disabled people and more than $100M of it is missing. 8 On Your Side first reported on this story and now Florida’s Attorney General is involved.

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office has filed a civil action against the St. Petersburg-based Center for Special Needs Trust Administration and Center founder Leo Govoni. The Attorney General said that civil action may only be the beginning.

It was money meant to help some of the most vulnerable among us — money meant to care for disabled people throughout their lives, but then $100M went missing. Moody is calling it theft, plain and simple. The families of some victims wonder if the police should be involved, too.
